Charity donations
The latest reports by the UN Food Programme are alarming: It is estimated that 14 million people in Afghanistan are food insecure, including 2 million children. Maywand Foundation is committed to help alleviate hunger, improve nutrition and support underprivileged communities. Our team on the ground purchases food essentials in the Mandayee (the city’s main bazaar) and fill up their pick-up trucks, before driving for several hours to inaccessible parts of the province to bring the donations to the communities in need.
Support
We implement basic nutrition plans by providing the communities with highly nutritious pastes and energy bars.
Implement
We fund a number of apprenticeships and trainings in teaching, nursing and midwifery. We offer community teachers the Afghan Ministry of Education Program Training.
Invest
We invest in agriculture by buying the farmers’ produce at a fair market wage, and providing them with vocational training to teach them how to effectively cultivate their land while protecting the environment.
