Since 2008 Maywand Jabarkhyl has worked to help the most vulnerable Afghans in a meaningful way. As the CEO of Tanweer Investments, he has successfully led different initiatives that aim to promote ethical employment, build innovative infrastructure, increase security and invest in communities across every corner of Afghanistan. Holding onto a powerful and holistic humanitarian vision he developed integrated schemes in grassroots development, education, agriculture and healthcare. Every step of the way, he encouraged women-led sustainability, putting it at the forefront of his mission.
Rising up to become the CEO of the Fatima Bint Mohamed bin Zayed Initiatve – FBMI as it is better known, Maywand has led a thriving initiative that continues to directly benefit more than 50,000 Afghans nationwide and enables more than 4,000 female artisans to earn a living wage, while establishing baseline healthcare and education services in rural Afghanistan.
In 2020 Maywand expanded his vision to help build a more equal, safe and fair country for Afghan women by launching Mira Farms, an agricultural social enterprise which has created a strong and financially independent network of farmers who today export their products globally.
The Maywand Foundation was born out of sheer determination to tackle challenging obstacles once and for all, and deliver healthcare to every last child in Afghanistan. By launching the Maywand Foundation, he is drastically increasing his efforts to empower, educate and zero in on Afghanistan’s biggest health challenges.
